PENGARUH MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS METODE MONTESSORI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA DAN MENULIS PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS 1 SD NEGERI UJUNG TANAH 2 KOTA MAKASSAR

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Montessori method on students’ early reading and writing skills using a quantitative approach and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 students, and data were collected through pretests, posttests, and observations, then analyzed using normality, linearity, and hypothesis tests with the help of SPSS version 30. The results showed an improvement in reading skills from an average score of 10.10 to 16.03 and writing skills from 13.07 to 18.33. Based on the hypothesis test results with a significance value of 0.006 < 0.05, it can be concluded that the Montessori method has a significant and positive effect on improving students’ early reading and writing abilities.
