ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR MATEMATIKA PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study aims to analyze mathematics learning difficulties among elementary school students and identify the contributing factors. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including tests, observations, and interviews. Data were analyzed using Newman’s Error Analysis, which includes reading, comprehension, transformation, process, and encoding errors. The results indicate that students mainly experience difficulties in understanding word problems, performing arithmetic operations, and transforming problems into mathematical forms. The causes of these difficulties include low conceptual understanding, lack of practice, and less varied teaching methods. Therefore, more contextual learning strategies and appropriate instructional media are needed to support students’ understanding and reduce learning difficulties in mathematics.
