ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR MATEMATIKA MATERI PENGELOLAAN DATA PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR
Keywords:
learning difficulties, data management, mathematics, elementaryschoolAbstract
This study aims to analyze the difficulties in learning mathematicsindatamanagement material experienced by elementary school students and identifythefactors that cause them. This study uses a qualitative approach with adescriptiveresearch type that focuses on an in-depth description of phenomena in thecontext
of real learning. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade elementaryschool
students who experienced learning difficulties and their class teachersassupporting informants. Data collection techniques were carried out throughobservation, interviews, tests, and documentation to obtain comprehensiveandaccurate data. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model whichincludesdata reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validitywastested through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showedthat
students experienced three main forms of difficulties: difficulty in understandingtheconcept of data management, difficulty in presenting data in the formof tablesanddiagrams, and difficulty in interpreting data. These difficulties were characterizedbypoor data reading skills, errors in diagram presentation, and a lack of abilitytodrawconclusions from available data. Factors causing learning difficulties includeinternal
factors such as low learning motivation, lack of conceptual understanding, andlimited analytical thinking skills, and external factors such as less variedlearningmethods, minimal use of learning media, and low student involvement inthelearning process. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve learning throughtheuseof more interactive, innovative, and contextual methods to optimally enhancestudents' understanding of data management materials.
