This study discusses the application of the Problem Based Learning model as a solution to overcome learning difficulties for elementary school students on the circumference and area of flat shapes. The main difficulties often faced by students are the confusion between the concepts of circumference and area, the tendency to memorize formulas without understanding their meaning, and difficulties in the context of word problems. The Problem Based Learning model was chosen because it is able to present contextual problems that are relevant to students' daily lives, thus enabling them to build conceptual understanding meaningfully. Through the Problem Based Learning syntax consisting of problem orientation, student organization, investigation guidance, product development, and evaluation analysis, students are encouraged to think critically and collaboratively. The expected results are a significant increase in conceptual understanding, the ability to distinguish between circumference and area, and the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile character, especially aspects of independence, critical reasoning, and mutual cooperation. The implementation of Problem Based Learning integrated with real contexts such as calculating the need for tiles or fences has proven effective in bridging mathematical abstraction with students' concrete experiences.
