Abstract

This study examines teachers' learning strategies in developing religious tolerance through classroom learning activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategies teachers use to develop religious tolerance in students at SDN Kampung Bulak 02 and SD Yadika 3. This study was motivated by the fact that students have different religious beliefs, languages, and ethnicities. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study consisted of four teachers and four students, two teachers from SDN Kampung Bulak 02 and two teachers from SD Yadika 3. The results of this study show that there are learning strategies that teachers use in the classroom through activities such as religious habits, group work, and playing games in learning activities to instill religious tolerance in students. Supporting factors in developing religious tolerance through learning strategies include support from parents, a good school environment, and cooperation among school members. Meanwhile, a factor hindering the development of religious tolerance in students is that some students still do not understand the diversity that exists in Indonesia.
