Abstract

Single-parent families are an increasingly common social phenomenon in Indonesia, primarily due to rising divorce rates and the loss of a spouse due to death. This situation requires single parents, particularly mothers, to fulfill dual roles as breadwinners, caregivers, and educators. This study aims to describe the dynamics of single-parent family life, including the challenges faced, survival strategies, forms of social support, and resilience developed in daily life. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. The results indicate that single parents face emotional, social, and economic pressures simultaneously. Spiritual resilience, support from children, and the ability to adapt to dual roles are key factors strengthening family resilience.
