Penerapan ISO 31000 dan PDCA dalam Manajemen Risiko Pendidikan:Analisis Literatur dengan Pendekatan Kaizen Islam

Abstract

The implementation of Western risk management standards such as ISO 31000 and
the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle in Islamic educational institutions is often
criticized as being too technocratic, mechanistic, and merely an administrative
formality, neglecting human and spiritual aspects. This study aims to formulate an
integration model between the ISO 31000:2018 technical framework and the
operationalization of PDCA with the Islamic Kaizen spiritual values approach in
educational risk management. The research method used is a Systematic Literature
Review (SLR) following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic
Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol. A literature search was conducted in four
reputable academic databases (Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Sinta)
between 2016 and 2026, resulting in 20 final articles for thematic analysis after going
through a rigorous screening process from a total of 115 initial articles. The main
findings indicate that the internalization of the values of Ihsan (perfection) and Itqan
(professionalism) in Islamic Kaizen can provide a spiritual "spirit" that fills the void
of intrinsic motivation in human resources. This integration transforms the formal
evaluation stage (Check) into a culture of Muhasabah (spiritual self-reflection), so
that risk management is implemented as a form of accountability in the afterlife and
a trustworthy responsibility to the Creator, not merely compliance.
