Abstract

This study investigates how teacher handle disagreements among students during collaborative group work in class. In this case we use a literature review, by studying various relevant journals as the main source in the research, then find three main forms of conflict: disagreements over task distribution, differing approaches to problem-solving, and conflicts arising from social dynamics within groups. To manage these conflicts, teachers applied four key strategies: direct mediation, establishing structured discussion rules, positive emotional reinforcement, and reframing conflict as a learning opportunity. These strategies demand strong leadership competence, interpersonal communication skills, and empathy from teachers. In addition, this study also revealed challenges that educators need to face, including time constraints, minimal conflict management training, and a lack of institutional support. Effective management of differences of opinion was found to positively impact student learning outcomes across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, while also fostering essential soft skills such as communication, negotiation, and collaboration. This finding reveals why developing teachers' skills in classroom leadership is a long-term investment for the quality of education.
