This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of sixth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at SDN 97/II Muara Bungo. Initial observations showed that most students paid little attention to the teacher, were less active during the lessons, and had difficulty understanding basic IPAS concepts. Consequently, the achievement of the Minimum Mastery Criteria was still relatively low, with only a few students meeting the expected standard. To overcome this problem, the researcher applied the demonstration method, which emphasizes students’ active involvement through observation, direct practice, and group discussions during the learning process. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, involving 17 students as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. The pre-cycle average score was 64 with 34.61% mastery. After the first cycle, the average increased to 72 with 57.69% mastery, and in the second cycle, it rose to 82 with 92.30% mastery. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the demonstration method effectively improved students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject. This method not only facilitated better understanding of the subject matter but also enhanced students’ motivation, activeness, and critical thinking skills. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in applying more varied and effective learning strategies to improve the quality of education in elementary schools.
