Abstract

Career planning is a systematic process undertaken by individuals to identify their potential, determine career goals, and develop strategies to achieve those goals. The increasingly dynamic world of work, driven by technological developments and global competition, requires individuals to have well-directed and sustainable career planning. This study aims to analyze the concept of career planning, its objectives, benefits, elements, stages, and career development strategies, as well as examine career planning from an Islamic perspective. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through a review of books, journals, the Qur'an, and other relevant literature related to career planning and development. The results show that career planning plays an important role in helping individuals recognize their potential, determine career direction, develop competencies, increase work motivation and job satisfaction, and prepare themselves to face changes in the world of work. For organizations, career planning can support increased productivity, employee loyalty, human resource development, and leadership succession. From an Islamic perspective, career planning is part of human effort to prepare for the future based on the values of faith, professionalism, honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, and a balance between worldly and spiritual interests. Therefore, systematic and continuous career planning can help individuals achieve professional success while providing benefits to organizations and society.
