Attitude assessment is a crucial element in higher education related to teacher training, particularly in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program. Prospective teachers are expected not only to possess strong academic knowledge but also to demonstrate character traits that can serve as role models for students. This article aims to evaluate how attitude assessment is conducted among PGSD students, identify the ideal character traits for prospective elementary school teachers, and analyze the challenges and solutions in its implementation. The methodology used is a literature review, examining various relevant studies, regulations, and educational policies. The findings of the analysis indicate that the assessment of PGSD students' attitudes covers spiritual and social aspects, which are evaluated through observation, self-assessment, peer assessment, and faculty journals. The desired character traits for prospective elementary school teachers include values such as integrity, responsibility, empathy, compassion, discipline, and adaptability all of which form the foundation of professionalism in the field of education. However, in the implementation of attitude assessment in the PGSD program, there are still various challenges, such as subjective assessment, a lack of standardized measurement tools, and discrepancies between the attitudes demonstrated in the classroom and students' true attitudes in daily life. Some solutions that can be considered include the development of more comprehensive assessment rubrics, the integration of attitude assessment across all courses, and the promotion of a culture of reflection on campus. It is hoped that this article will serve as a reference for lecturers and administrators of the PGSD program in designing an attitude assessment system that is more structured, objective, and truly effective in shaping the character of prospective elementary school teachers.
