PEMANFAATAN LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) DALAM MENINGKATKAN EFEKTIFITAS PEMBELAJARAN DIGITAL DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in the last decade has significantly transformed educational practices, particularly at the elementary school level. This transformation has encouraged schools to integrate technology into the learning process, one of which is through the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to support structured, flexible, and effective digital learning. However, the implementation of LMS in Indonesian elementary schools still faces several challenges, including limited teacher digital literacy, inadequate infrastructure, and suboptimal utilization of LMS features. This study aims to analyze how LMS is utilized to enhance the effectiveness of digital learning in elementary schools. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the actual practices in the field. The findings indicate that LMS contributes significantly to improving learning effectiveness by providing structured materials, facilitating student engagement, and enhancing digital literacy. Students become more active in completing assignments, participating in discussions, and accessing learning materials independently. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of LMS remains influenced by teacher competence, infrastructure availability, and student readiness. Therefore, continuous development is required, including improving teacher skills, strengthening technological support, and optimizing LMS features. Overall, the study concludes that LMS has strong potential to enhance digital learning effectiveness in elementary schools, provided that pedagogical, technical, and environmental factors are adequately supported.
