IMPLEMENTASI TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT DALAM PENDIDIKAN: KAJIAN LITERATUR TENTANG MUTU BERKELANJUTAN DI SEKOLAH ISLAM

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Islamic education through a literature review with a focus on sustainable quality. TQM emphasizes the involvement of all organizational components, top management commitment, and a culture of continuous improvement which in the context of Islamic schools includes academic quality as well as spiritual development, ethics and Islamic character. TQM principles such as customer focus, staff involvement, continuous improvement, and visionary leadership can be

adapted effectively if enriched with the values of trust, compassion, deliberation, and justice. The literature review shows success in the form of increased stakeholder satisfaction and quality consistency, even though it still faces obstacles such as limited resources, cultural resistance, and bureaucratization. Therefore, this research offers a conceptual model of sustainable quality based on Islamic values with the principal as a transformational leader, teachers as agents of change,

and students as the center of quality services, so that it can become a practical reference for Islamic schools in facing educational modernization without losing spiritual identity.
