IMPLEMENTASI INOVASI PEMBELAJARAN DAN LAYANAN BIMBINGAN KONSELING SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN DI SMP NEGERI 7 PALEMBANG

Abstract

The School Field Introduction Program (PLP) is an academic activity designed to provide prospective teachers with authentic teaching experiences in school settings. This study aims to describe the implementation of various learning innovations and guidance and counseling services conducted by students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI University of Palembang, at SMP Negeri 7 Palembang. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through observation, teaching practice, reflection, and documentation during the PLP program. The innovations included poetry writing through deep learning integrated with STEM, classical guidance services using the ARKA method to improve emotional management, visual learning in English instruction, development of Project Based Learning (PjBL) teaching materials for letter writing, direct instruction in music education, basketball learning activities to improve students’ endurance, and efforts to increase participation in physical education classes. The findings indicate that these innovations enhanced students’ engagement, learning motivation, creativity, critical thinking skills, socio-emotional competence, and active participation in classroom activities. The study concludes that interdisciplinary collaboration through PLP activities contributes positively to improving educational quality at SMP Negeri 7 Palembang.
