Abstract

The low level of science process skills in elementary school students is a problem in science learning because the learning process tends to be teacher-centered and lacks active student involvement in scientific activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of the gamification-assisted Discovery Learning model, students' science process skills, and the effect of the gamification-assisted Discovery Learning model on fifth-grade science process skills in the UPTD SDN 84 Barru. This study used a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample size was 30 students, consisting of 15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group. Data collection techniques included observation, science process skills tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the implementation of the gamification-assisted Discovery Learning model experienced a significant increase, from 59.72% in treatment I to 79.16% in treatment II and 94.44% in treatment III. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) <0.001, indicating a significant effect on students' science process skills. Thus, the gamification-assisted Discovery Learning model significantly impacts students' science process skills in elementary school science learning.
