Analisis Teoretis Pengaturan Meja Berkelompok dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Siswa SD

Abstract

Seating arrangement is an important aspect of classroom management that influences the quality of learning in elementary schools. Learning practices that are still dominated by traditional seating arrangements tend to limit interaction between students and hinder the development of communication skills. This study aims to theoretically analyze the effect of group desk arrangements on improving elementary school students' communication skills. The study used a qualitative approach with a literature study through an analysis of 15 relevant scientific journals on classroom management, cooperative learning, and student communication skills. Data collection techniques were carried out through searching for credible scientific sources, then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method with the steps of reduction, classification, comparison, and synthesis of findings. The results of the study indicate that group desk arrangements can increase the intensity of verbal interaction, courage to express opinions, active listening skills, and response skills. The effectiveness of this arrangement is increasingly optimal when integrated with a cooperative learning model and structured classroom management. However, successful implementation is influenced by the clarity of teacher instructions, discussion supervision, and familiarization with communication rules. Thus, group desk arrangements can be understood as a pedagogical strategy that supports interactive, collaborative, and communicative learning in elementary schools.
