This study aims to improve early reading ability in Group B children through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with Picture and Picture assisted by picture media. This research used a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, involving 16 children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through teacher and child activity observation sheets and early reading performance assessment sheets, then analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings showed that teacher activity increased from 72% (Good) in Cycle I to 94% (Very Good) in Cycle II, child activity increased from 71.56% (Active) to 89.69% (Very Active), and children's early reading ability improved from an average score of 65.3% (Developing as Expected) to 96.1% (Developing Very Well), with classical completeness reaching 100% in Cycle II. It is concluded that the combination of PjBL and Picture and Picture with picture media effectively enhances early reading skills, teacher performance, and children's active engagement, and is recommended as a meaningful, contextual, and enjoyable early literacy learning strategy for young children.
