Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem in Indonesia’s education system that has adverse physical and psychological effects on victims, perpetrators, and those who play dual roles as both victims and perpetrators. This article aims to examine the application of the second principle of Pancasila, “Just and Civilized Humanity,” as a moral foundation for efforts to prevent bullying in school settings and the digital realm. This study was conducted through a literature review of various journals and research findings related to Pancasila, character education, and bullying prevention. The results indicate that bullying is fundamentally at odds with humanistic values because it involves actions that belittle, discriminate against, or harm others. The contributing factors are diverse, ranging from disharmonious family environments, a lack of school supervision, peer influence, to exposure to social media. Prevention efforts can be implemented by fostering empathy from an early age, strengthening cooperation among students, setting a good example through teachers, integrating the values of Pancasila into the curriculum and school culture, and fostering collaboration between families, schools, and the community. By consistently embodying the values of the second principle, it is hoped that a safe, fair, and civilized educational environment can be realized for all students.
