Abstract

Arts and culture education in elementary schools plays a crucial and strategic role in shaping character, training fine motor skills, and developing children's imagination. An applicable, innovative, and educative arts learning medium for students is the process of making batik jumputan (tie-dye). The "Creative Little Batik" activity aims to directly describe the color exploration process through tie-dye techniques to foster the creativity and freedom of expression of students at UPT SD Negeri Latsari Tuban. The primary method used in this program is experiential learning, which is divided into three systematic stages. The first stage introduces the basic theory of batik art alongside its tools and materials. The second stage demonstrates folding, fabric tying techniques, and basic coloring. The third stage is direct hands-on practice, where students are granted the freedom to explore independently, creating tying patterns and combining basic colors into aesthetic compositions. The results of this activity demonstrate a significant increase in students' creativity and learning enthusiasm. Through exploring color mixing and varying tie placements, every student successfully produced batik jumputan fabrics with diverse and unique patterns. This creative process effectively trained children's imagination and motor skills, while also fostering patience and problem-solving abilities during pattern design. In conclusion, this batik jumputan making program has proven to be a highly effective learning approach for stimulating and optimizing students' creative potential. Furthermore, this activity actively instills a sense of pride and appreciation for the rich values of Indonesia's local cultural heritage from a very early age.
