Abstract

Indonesia is a diverse nation united by the value of unity as embodied in the third principle of Pancasila. College campuses bring together students from diverse backgrounds, making them places where unity can flourish, but also where intolerance and racial radicalism can emerge. This study aims to explain the implementation of the value of unity in social life, identify the forms and contributing factors of intolerance and racial radicalism on college campuses, and formulate strategies to strengthen unity. The method used was descriptive qualitative research with a literature review. The results of the study indicate that intolerance on campus manifests in the forms of prejudice, group exclusivism, discrimination, and hate speech on social media, triggered by a superficial understanding of nationalism, ethnocentrism, the influence of social media, and a lack of cross-group interaction. Unity can be strengthened through contextual Pancasila education, cross-cultural activities, exemplary behavior by faculty and administrators, digital literacy, and firm and inclusive campus policies.
