In the modern era filled with technological advancements, education is no longer limited to conventional methods. New approaches to learning, especially in the context of literary education, often involve the integration of technology. This paper aims to explore the use of technology in Indonesian literature education and its impact on students' understanding and appreciation of literary works. Using qualitative research methods and literature review, this article analyzes various tools and techniques that have been used in Indonesian literature education. Some highlighted technologies include multimedia, digital storytelling, online literary analysis tools, and virtual reality simulations. The integration of technology in Indonesian literature education offers various benefits. First, technology allows the presentation of literary works in an engaging and interactive format, enhancing student engagement in learning. Second, digital tools facilitate deeper understanding of literary works by presenting information in various formats, such as audiovisual and interactive. Third, technology enables easier access to various resources, expanding the range of reading materials and critical analysis for students. However, the use of technology in literature education also poses several challenges. These include issues of uneven technological accessibility, excessive reliance on technology, and the potential to diminish deep understanding of traditional literary texts. Empirical research in this field shows varied results. Some studies find that the use of technology can enhance understanding and appreciation of literary works, while others highlight that excessive dependence on technology may reduce students' ability to analyze texts deeply. In conclusion, the integration of technology in Indonesian literature education can provide significant benefits in enhancing understanding and appreciation of literary works. However, the use of technology must be balanced with appropriate approaches and awareness of potential challenges. This underscores the importance of continued exploration and adaptation of technology in the context of Indonesian literature education.
