HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TEMAN SEBAYA DENGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR PADA SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 1 GOMBONG

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of peer social support, the level of learning motivation, and the relationship between peer social support and learning motivation among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Gombong. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 74 eleventh-grade students, including 48 male and 26 female students, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through peer social support and learning motivation scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that peer social support was categorized as high at 46% (34 students), while learning motivation was categorized as very high at 42% (31 students). The correlation analysis yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.492 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a positive and significant relationship between peer social support and learning motivation among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Gombong. Thus, the higher the peer social support received by students, the higher their learning motivation.
