This study aims to improve the writing skills of grade X-TKI 1 students' observational reports at SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya through a scaffolding strategy using cards with images of objects for students to observe. This strategy provides visual stimuli to identify facts, characteristics, and the design of observations before they are presented in the form of an observational report. This study used the Kennis and McTaggart Classroom Action Research (CAR) design in two cycles. In Cycle I, students used picture cards and worksheets containing text structures. In Cycle II, students wrote independently, using only picture cards. The study subjects were 36 students. Data were collected through student writing, which was assessed using an analytical rubric and analyzed descriptively. The results showed a class average increase from 75.83 in Cycle I to 89.31 in Cycle II. This increase was linked to reduced structural support between cycles, which encouraged students to observe, discover facts, and develop their writing independently.
