PEMANFAATAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ( AI ) SEBAGAI MEDIAPEMBELAJARAN DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including Islamic education. AI offers innovative opportunities to enhance teaching and learning through personalized instruction, intelligent tutoring systems, automated assessment, and interactive digital learning environments. This study aims to analyze the utilization of Artificial Intelligence as a learning medium in Islamic education and its implications for improving learning quality. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative approach by reviewing books, scientific journals, policy documents, and other relevant literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify patterns, opportunities, and challenges associated with AI integration in Islamic education. The findings indicate that AI contributes to improving learning effectiveness by supporting adaptive learning, facilitating access to Islamic educational resources, increasing student engagement, and assisting teachers in instructional planning and assessment. However, its implementation also presents several challenges, including limited digital literacy among educators, inadequate technological infrastructure, ethical concerns, data privacy issues, and the need to maintain Islamic values in technology-based learning. Therefore, AI should be positioned as a complementary tool that supports, rather than replaces, the essential role of teachers in fostering students' spiritual, moral, and intellectual development. The study concludes that the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence into Islamic education requires collaborative efforts among educational institutions, teachers, policymakers, and technology developers to create innovative, ethical, and value-oriented learning environments.
