This study aims to describe the literacy profile of third-grade students at SDN 2 Sidomulyo, the process of using video storytelling media in literacy learning, and the factors influencing students' literacy ability when using this media. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects were three female third-grade students with different initial ability profiles: Student 1, who was not yet able to read, comprehend, or write; Student 2, who had difficulty reading and had not yet been able to comprehend text; and Student 3, who was able to read but still had limited comprehension. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation across three stages of analysis in January, March, and April, using the folktales Si Kancil dan Buaya, Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih, and Malin Kundang. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and validated through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that all three subjects made progress in literacy ability at each stage, in listening comprehension, understanding story content, vocabulary enrichment, and retelling stories, although the level of achievement and the pace of progress differed according to each child's initial condition. Inhibiting factors identified included limited parental support in reviewing lessons at home, parents' busy work schedules, and the influence of the subjects' personal gadget use. Video storytelling media proved to be an effective and enjoyable alternative learning media for literacy among elementary school students with varying initial abilities.
