Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of listening skills among fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Bakung 2 Makassar. This condition is evident in the students’ lack of focus when the teacher delivers the material, their difficulty in understanding information conveyed orally, and the use of conventional teaching methods, which make learning less engaging for students. Therefore, the use of more engaging and interactive learning media is necessary, one of which is through animated media. This study aims to determine the profile of animation media use in learning, to assess students’ listening skills regarding fables before and after the intervention, and to determine the effect of animation media use on students’ listening skills regarding fables. This study employs a quantitative approach using an experimental research design with a pre-experimental design and a one-group pretest–posttest model. The study population consists of all 19 fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Bakung 2 Makassar, with a sampling technique using saturation sampling. Data collection techniques include
