PENGARUH MEDIA SMART BOX TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PROBLEM SOLVING ANAK DI TK KEMALA BHAYANGKARI 1 KOTA PADANG

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of early childhood education institutions to 
use conventional methods that lack variety and are not specifically designed to 
develop children's problem-solving skills. Therefore, the researcher was interested in 
using Smart Box media in the learning process to examine its impact on early 
childhood problem-solving skills, a topic that has not been extensively researched, 
particularly at Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kindergarten in Padang City. This study aimed 
to determine the effect of Smart Box media on children's problem-solving skills at 
Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kindergarten in Padang City.This study used a quantitative 
approach with a pre-experimental method using a One Group Pretest Posttest 
Design. The study subjects were 16 children in class B3 at Kemala Bhayangkari 1 
Kindergarten in Padang City. Data collection used a five-item questionnaire. Data 
analysis was conducted through normality tests and hypothesis testing using paired 
sample t-tests using SPSS version 27.0 for Windows.The results showed a significant 
difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of children's problem-solving 
abilities, with a significance level of 0.001 <0.05. The average problem-solving ability 
scores of children showed a difference after being treated with the smart box. Based 
on these results, it can be concluded that the smart box media has a significant and 
effective effect on improving children's problem-solving abilities at Kemala 
Bhayangkari 1 Kindergarten, Padang City.
