This study aims to analyze and synthesize previous research findings regarding the role of angklung extracurricular activities in preserving Sundanese culture in elementary schools. The study is motivated by the limited integration of cultural values in angklung learning, which tends to focus more on technical musical skills. This research employs a literature review approach by examining 16 relevant scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026, collected from databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, SINTA, and Garuda. The analysis was conducted using content analysis and thematic analysis to identify patterns, themes, and relationships across studies. The results indicate that angklung extracurricular activities play a significant role not only in improving students’ musical abilities but also in fostering cultural values such as cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and appreciation of local heritage. However, several studies reveal that the implementation in schools still emphasizes technical aspects, limiting its potential as a medium for cultural preservation. This study implies that teachers and schools need to design angklung extracurricular programs that explicitly integrate cultural values through creative, collaborative, and context-based learning activities. Practically, schools are encouraged to develop structured programs, incorporate cultural reflection sessions, and utilize interactive or digital media to enhance student engagement and cultural awareness.
