PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA KANTONG NILAI TEMPAT PADA MATERI BILANGAN CACAH KELAS III SDN BUNSALAK KABUPATEN LOMBOK TENGAH

Abstract

The low level of students' understanding of whole numbers remains one of the problems in mathematics learning for third grade elementary school students. This study aimed to develop a place value pocket learning media that is valid and practical for teaching whole numbers in Grade III of elementary school. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments consisted of observation sheets, interviews, media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, and teacher and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data were obtained from comments, suggestions, and feedback related to the developed product. Meanwhile, quantitative data were analyzed descriptively to determine the validity and practicality of the learning media. The results showed that the Place Value Pocket media obtained a media expert validity score of 92.86%, categorized as very valid, while the material expert validity score was 80%, categorized as valid. The practicality test results showed percentages of 92.73% in the small-group trial and 94.64% in the large-group trial. In addition, the teacher response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 92%, categorized as very practical. The results indicate that the media is practical for whole numbers learning. Based on the findings, the Place Value Pocket media is considered valid and practical, making it suitable for use as a learning medium for whole numbers in Grade III of elementary school.
