INTEGRASI SINERGI PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DAN PENDIDIKAN VOKASIONAL DALAM MEMBANGUN KOMPETENSI HOLISTIK: ANALISIS PADA MAAHAD TAHFIZ VOKASIONAL AMAN BISTARI (MTVAB), MALAYSIA

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education faces the challenge of addressing the demands of the 21st century, which require a balance between spiritual competence and professional skills. This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and vocational education in developing students’ holistic competencies through a case study at Maahad Tahfiz Vokasional Aman Bistari (MTVAB), Malaysia. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, with data analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model The findings indicate that MTVAB implements an integrated curriculum that emphasizes spiritual formation through Qur’anic memorization, daily worship, and moral strengthening., alongside vocational skills development through hands-on training in culinary arts, automotive, tailoring, and craft animation. The synergy of these elements produces graduates known as huffaz professionals individuals who are fluent in Qur’anic memorization while being technically competent and guided by Islamic work ethics. Supporting factors include government support, competent teachers, and adequate facilities, while the main challenges involve financial constraints, limited human resources, and societal stigma. In conclusion, MTVAB demonstrates the successful implementation of a holistic educational model that harmonizes religiosity with practical skills, serving as a potential blueprint for the future development of globally competitive Islamic education.
