PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR BERBASIS FLIP CHART PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI KELAS VII SMPN 1 TO'PONDAN SATAP BASTEM UTARA

Abstract

The development of attractive, practical, and effective learning materials is important to support students in understanding Islamic Religious Education. This study aimed to develop flip chart-based learning materials for Grade VII students at SMPN 1 To’Pondan Satap Bastem Utara and to examine their effectiveness in improving students’ learning outcomes. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study was conducted at SMPN 1 To’Pondan Satap Bastem Utara, involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and Grade VII students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the developed flip chart-based learning materials were feasible to use based on validation results from material, media, and language experts, with scores of 75%, 81.25%, and 80.55%, respectively. The formative test instruments also obtained high validation scores, namely 88.6% for multiple-choice questions and 95.8% for fill-in-the-blank questions. The use of the flip chart was also considered practical and attractive by teachers and students. Furthermore, the students’ average learning outcome increased from 50.8 before using the learning materials to 83.3 after implementation, with 100% learning mastery. Therefore, the developed flip chart-based learning materials were feasible, practical, and effective for supporting Islamic Religious Education learning, particularly on the material of emulating the obedience of the angels of Allah.
