Resistance to change is a phenomenon commonly encountered in educational organizations, yet it is often understood superficially as mere rejection. This article aims to examine resistance more comprehensively through a literature review approach. The findings reveal that resistance is a multidimensional construct shaped by the interaction of three core dimensions: cognitive, affective, and social. Furthermore, resistance exhibits several distinctive characteristics it is natural, dynamic, contextual, and heavily influenced by individual subjective perception. Resistance can also be classified into four levels, ranging from acceptance and indifference to passive resistance and active resistance. These findings affirm that resistance is not simply an obstacle, but also a significant indicator of individual and organizational readiness for change. Therefore, managing resistance requires a holistic approach that attends to psychological, social, and strategic dimensions, ensuring that the change process unfolds effectively and sustainably.
