PERANAN FAKTOR SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI LINGKUNGAN DALAM MEMBENTUK PEMAHAMAN GEOGRAFI SISWA: STUDI EMPIRIS

Abstract

Students' understanding of geography is influenced by various environmental factors, both social and economic, which can affect the learning process in schools. This article aims to analyze the influence of social and economic environmental factors on students' understanding of geography through an empirical analysis approach. The research was conducted using survey methods and regression analysis on a sample of students from various social and economic backgrounds. Social environmental factors examined include parents' level of education, parents' employment status, and access to learning resources. Meanwhile, economic environmental factors include household income and family economic security. Findings from the empirical analysis indicate that social and economic environmental factors significantly influence students' understanding of geography. Parents' level of education, parents' employment status, and access to learning resources positively correlate with students' understanding of geography. Similarly, household income and family economic security also positively contribute to students' understanding of geography. This article concludes that students' understanding of geography is not only influenced by internal factors in the learning process at school but also by social and economic environmental factors that affect students' learning conditions and contexts.
