PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS LINGKUNGAN PADA PENDIDIKAN GEOGRAFI

Abstract

Geography education plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of the interaction between humans and their environment. In an effort to enrich learning experiences and foster deeper understanding of geographical phenomena, the exploration of environment-based learning models has become a primary focus. This article aims to explore various environment-based learning models that can be applied in the context of geography education. A qualitative approach is utilized to gain insights through literature review and case study analysis. Findings from this research identify several environment-based learning models that have proven effective in enhancing students' understanding of the relationship between humans and the environment, as well as in promoting awareness of relevant environmental issues. These models include project-based learning, experiential learning, collaborative learning, and technology-based learning. However, challenges such as integrating these models into existing curricula and providing adequate training for teachers also need to be addressed. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of exploring and implementing environment-based learning models to enhance the effectiveness of geography education and prepare students to become environmentally-conscious citizens.
