UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEAKTIFAN BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PjBL) PADA MATERI MENDAPATKAN HAK DAN MELAKSANAKAN KEWAJIBAN KELAS IV DI SDN JENAR KIDUL PURWOREJO

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model regarding the topic of "Obtaining Rights and Fulfilling Obligations" in the fourth-grade class at SDN Jenar Kidul, Purworejo; and 2) determine the improvement in student learning engagement in the fourth-grade class at SDN Jenar Kidul following the implementation of the PjBL model. Through this study, it is expected that students will gain a better understanding of the material on rights and obligations while simultaneously increasing their engagement in classroom learning. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles. Each cycle comprises the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection, utilizing the PjBL model through a clipping project. The research subjects were nine fourth-grade students at SDN Jenar Kidul. Data collection techniques involved observing student activities and documenting the proceedings. Research instruments, observation sheets, and documentation were analyzed descriptively using both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results of implementing the Project-Based Learning model are as follows: 1) Regarding implementation, the PjBL model achieved a success rate of 76.5% in Cycle I and 100% in Cycle II, leading to the conclusion that the model was implemented successfully. 2) Regarding student engagement, the average level was 44% (categorized as "moderately active") during the pre-cycle stage, 48.5% ("moderately active") in Cycle I, and 97% ("highly active") in Cycle II; thus, it can be concluded that the PjBL model effectively increases student engagement, making it a suitable model for instruction, particularly in Pancasila education.
