Abstract

Educational leadership is one of the key factors in improving the quality of education in schools. Educational leaders play a role in managing, guiding, and developing educational institutions so that educational goals can be achieved. Therefore, an understanding of various theories of educational leadership is crucial for school leaders. This paper aims to explore the concept of educational leadership and identify various theories that can be applied in schools. The method used in this paper is a literature review, examining various sources relevant to educational leadership theories. The results of the discussion indicate that there are several leadership theories applicable in the field of education, namely instructional leadership, transformational leadership, moral leadership, and visionary leadership. These theories play a role in improving the quality of the learning process, encouraging change and innovation, building an organizational culture based on moral values, and guiding educational institutions toward better goals. With the application of appropriate leadership, the quality of education in schools is expected to continue to improve.
