PERWATAKAN TOKOH DALAM NOVEL DOMPET AYAH SEPATU IBU KARYA J.S. KHAIREN

Abstract

This study aims to describe the character and character development of the characters in the novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu J.S. Khairen based on Skinner's behavioristic psychology approach. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data source in this study is the novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu by J.S. Khairen with data in the form of quotations in the form of sentences, paragraphs, or dialogues in the novel. The data collection technique used is a documentary study with the researcher as a data collection tool. The data that has been collected is tested for validity with observation diligence, referential adequacy, and theory triangulation. Based on the results of the data analysis, there are various character traits in the novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu J.S. Khairen, including: hard worker, repressed feelings, likes to mock, thief, obedient, religious, tough, responsible, never gives up, wise, caring, smart. The development of the character of the characters in the novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu by J.S. Khairen shows a positive or negative direction such as: firm in holding a stance becomes obedient (positive), sarcastic mockery becomes wise (positive), stupid becomes smart (positive). Researchers have succeeded in compiling a teaching module that uses the novel Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu by J.S. Khairen as teaching material in grade XII Phase F of Senior High School.
