STUDI KASUS FAKTOR PENYEBAB PERILAKU AGRESIF VERBAL PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TK NGERI PEMBINA LUBUK PAKAM

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the external factors causing verbal aggressive behavior in early childhood at TK Negeri Pembina Lubuk Pakam. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research focused on one five-year-old child as the main participant, while the classroom teacher and the child's grandmother, who served as the primary caregiver, acted as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured using source triangulation and technique triangulation, while data analysis involved data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that verbal aggressive behavior was influenced by two main external factors, namely the family environment and digital media. Family-related factors included the frequent use of harsh language, high-tone communication, verbal conflicts among family members, and inappropriate conflict resolution patterns that were consistently observed and imitated by the child. Media-related factors included prolonged smartphone use, limited adult supervision, and exposure to inappropriate language through digital platforms, particularly TikTok and online games. These conditions provided opportunities for the child to imitate negative verbal expressions encountered in everyday interactions. The study concludes that the emergence of verbal aggressive behavior in early childhood is closely associated with the communication patterns within the family and the quality of digital media exposure. Therefore, collaboration between families and schools is essential to establish positive communication practices and provide appropriate supervision of children's digital media use to support healthy behavioral development.
