Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of local history textbooks in history learning at the secondary education level. The study focuses on how local historical events, figures, and values are presented in textbooks and their relevance to the context of students' lives. The method used is a qualitative approach with content analysis. The data sources are history textbooks used in schools, while data collection techniques are conducted through documentation studies. The results indicate that the representation of local history in textbooks still tends to be descriptive and does not fully emphasize strengthening local identity and its relevance to students' daily lives. Furthermore, there is a tendency for national historical narratives to dominate over local history. Therefore, the development of more contextual and integrative learning materials is needed to make history learning more meaningful and increase students' historical awareness of their surroundings.
