Uji Efektivitas Fitokimia dan Aktivitas Antioksidan pada Ekstrak Daun Jambu Biji (Psidium guadava L.) dengan Metode Sokletasi

Abstract

Guava leaves (Psidium guajava L) are a plant from the Myrtaceae family. Guava leaves are known to contain phytochemicals which have pharmacological activity. This research aims to determine the secondary metabolite content through phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity testing using a UV-vis spectrophotometer with the DPPH method on guava leaf extract obtained from Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The method used is soxhletation using ethyl acetate solvent. The results of phytochemical screening show that guava leaf extract contains secondary metabolite compounds such as steroids, terpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins. Antioxidant activity testing showed significant antioxidant activity in guava leaf extract. This research supports the potential of guava leaves as a source of bioactive compounds that have the potential to be developed into natural ingredients that are beneficial for health.
