Abstract

The development of the digital era has changed information access patterns in libraries. Users are currently experiencing a shift in their access to information. Users are increasingly using digital technology to access the information they need. This trend presents a challenge for libraries. The UNISSA Library implements conventional services in providing services to users. The interaction between librarians and users is the primary service. Communication is often neglected in this interaction. Minimal interpersonal communication between librarians and users results in user confusion. This lack of interpersonal communication results in a suboptimal service system, user confusion, and reduced emotional bonds. This study will examine the application of interpersonal communication by the UNISSA Library to improve service quality through qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the UNISSA Library has implemented interpersonal communication effectively. Communication is consistently implemented by librarians in the library to improve its services. Librarians always treat users appropriately based on the conditions and problems faced by users.
