Abstract

Foreign investment is crucial for a country's economic growth. Many Islamic and Western countries use foreign investment to boost economic growth, create more jobs, and accelerate progress in industry and technology. This study aims to examine the impact of foreign investment on economic growth in Muslim and Western countries using a literature review method. Information was obtained from various journals, books, and scholarly articles related to foreign investment and economic development. Research shows that foreign investment has positive effects, such as increasing employment, transferring technology, developing industry, and increasing state revenue. However, foreign investment can also have negative effects, such as economic dependency, competition with local businesses, and control of resources by foreigners. Western countries are generally better equipped to manage foreign investment because they have more stable economic systems and regulations compared to some Muslim-majority countries.
